Frank Tait is the Chairman of Oliver Hume Corporation and provides the company with extensive experience in the key areas of corporate strategy, management, governance and major project development.

As Chairman, Mr Tait has a range of formal and informal responsibilities including chairing board meetings, ensuring the proper working of the board and establishing basic corporate priorities; including ethical values, systems, policies and attitudes for the company.

He first joined Oliver Hume as a member of the company’s Advisory Board in 2003 and was appointed as a Director of Oliver Hume (Australia) Pty Ltd in 2006. He became Director and Chairman of Oliver Hume Corporation in 2012.

Mr Tait takes special interest implementing strong corporate governance procedures and initiating and managing the systems and processes that allow the company to grow over the short, medium and long term.

Over the last decade he has overseen the corporatisation of the company as it has expanded into a range of new operational areas and geographies. This oversight has focused on building the operational capacity of the business to ensure it can meet its growth targets while building a sustainable foundation.

Mr Tait was a practicing aeronautical engineer during the first phase of his career, including five years as a flight test engineer following graduation from the US Navy Flight Test School.

On completing his MBA, he moved into the rail transport industry where he was a key executive in the creation of the first national rail freight operator, National Rail Corporation; now Pacific National.

For seven years until 2014 he was Executive Director of the Infrastructure Projects Division within the Victorian Department of Transport and was Chairman of the Victorian Government’s regional rail operator V/Line from 2003 to 2013.

He also provides corporate advisory services on company restructures and governance through his consulting business Management Growth Systems.
