One such organisation is Variety – the Children’s Charity, which works tirelessly to help kids who are sick, disadvantaged, or living with disability to live happier, more inclusive lives.

Variety provides practical support where it’s needed most - whether that’s funding vital equipment, supporting therapies, or helping families create special moments together during incredibly challenging times. Their work not only supports children but also lifts the families and communities around them.

Clark’s Story: How Variety Makes a Real Impact

A recent example that demonstrates the impact of Variety’s work is the story of Clark, the two-year-old son of Rachel and Brendon.

Clark was diagnosed with Menkes Adjacent, a rare and incurable genetic condition that affects the body’s ability to absorb and distribute copper—an essential element for normal organ function. This condition significantly affected both his physical and cognitive development, placing considerable and complex care demands on his family during an extremely challenging time.

To support Clark and his family, Variety – the Children’s Charity generously provided funding to assist with his care and to help ensure his time was as comfortable, meaningful, and joyful as possible. This support included the purchase of Clark’s specialised seating, which cost over $10,000. Prior to this, the seat was being hired at a cost of $1,200 per month. Thanks to Variety’s generous contribution, the seat is now fully paid for, easing financial pressure on the family and allowing them to focus on what matters most- spending precious time together.

Clark’s story is a powerful reminder of the difference organisations like Variety can make. Through compassion, practical support, and genuine care, Variety continues to stand beside children and families during their most difficult moments.

Supporting Variety Through Action: Land Monkeys Charity Auction

We’re proud to share that in June, the Land Monkeys will be auctioning three homes in support of Variety, with 100% of the profit donated directly to the charity.

The homes are located in the Accolade Estate in Rockbank, delivered by Resi Ventures, with construction by Sherridon Homes. These are thoughtfully designed, single-storey homes featuring a popular, practical layout, ideal for modern living. Each home will be delivered with no deposit and no progress payments, and will be fully fenced and landscaped, making them a truly turnkey offering.

This initiative represents a powerful opportunity to combine community support with real, tangible outcomes - helping families like Clark’s while delivering quality homes for future buyers
